Optimizing Human Development for a Thriving Future

Why Human Growth Must Catch Up with Innovation

Dr. Motaghy Speaking at Green Transition 6.0

June 1-5 / 2026

The Forum is one of Europe’s leading platforms for dialogue on sustainability, innovation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth, bringing together leaders across government, industry, academia, and civil society to shape a more responsible future.

On this panel, I will bring my perspective as an Organizational Psychologist, mindfulness teacher, author, and designer of Mindful Life Optimization (MLO) Methodology. My work clarifies a fundamental principle: the health of our systems, societies, and planet depends on the depth of human development behind them.

Many of our modern challenges are not only technological, economic, or political problems. They are also the result of outdated, faulty, or incomplete life templates that shape how we think, decide, design, lead, and relate.

As AI becomes more powerful, persuasive, and embedded in our daily lives, we cannot focus only on what technology can do or how ethical it should be. We must also strengthen the human capacities guiding and living it.

I look forward to exploring how AI can support creativity, resilience, sustainability, and economic progress while keeping ethics, accountability, discernment, heart and life intelligence at the center of technological advancement.

My contribution will focus on critical understandings and the inner capacities humans need in order to design, govern, and use AI most effectively.

So that innovation does not leave human development behind.

June 8 / 2026

Starting at 17:00, the historic Central Market Hall in Sofia will host a rare and timely evening dedicated to humanity, resilience, and compassionate dialogue in an increasingly divided world. Organized by Digital National Alliance Bulgaria and DIR.BG, and moderated by Visoko Darvo, the event will feature a keynote lecture by Iranian-American organizational psychologist and mindfulness expert Dr. Manijeh Motaghy, joined in conversation futurist

and philosopher Aric Dromi Jankov. At a moment when the world is witnessing escalating tensions and violence surrounding the Iran–Israel conflict, conversations rooted in compassion, humanity, and mutual understanding have become more important than ever.

Centered around Dr. Manijeh Motaghy’s book It’s Not Easy to Be Human: A Compassionate Journey and Guide to Optimize Human Potential, Achieve Fulfillment and Systemic Ecological Well-Being, the discussion will focus on the key question – What does it mean to be human in the frame of the current global context? Can a space for compassion be established between warring narratives? Is there a path to a more human world in less than human environment?

As geopolitical instability continues to grow and global conflicts increasingly influence everyday life, the need for human-centered leadership, emotional resilience, and compassionate communication becomes critical. The conversation will address how technology, artificial intelligence, media systems, and digital polarization are reshaping public consciousness and amplifying division across societies.

In a digital age where fear, outrage, and conflict can spread globally within seconds, amplified hate and dehumanizing narratives are increasingly influencing public opinion, deepening social fractures, and impacting the lives of millions of people across communities and generations, conversations that center in humanity and becoming rare and more important than ever.

Let’s Not Leave Human Advancement Behind!

Dr. Motaghy’s work is grounded in a simple but often overlooked truth: “Our systems cannot be wiser, more ethical, or more sustainable than the humans who design and lead them.”

Across her keynotes and trainings, Dr. Motaghy makes a clear case: without completing human development, no matter how advanced our technologies or systems become, humans will continue to create problems and suffer
the consequences, both foreseen and unforeseen.

Her work focuses on
mitigating conflict, instability, and recurring human crises by advancing human development to keep pace with technological advancement.

Through her Mindful Life and Human Software Optimization framework, she provides the means for developing and strengthening essential human capacities enabling individuals, leaders, and societies—across generations, cultures, and backgrounds—to benefit from authentic, humane, and naturally intelligent ways of living and working.

This work resonates with and empowers leaders navigating complexity, disruption, and uncertainty—those who recognize that sustainable success depends not only on better strategies, but on wiser understanding, choice making, and innovating.
